It lies at the flat areas and the slopes on the southern part of Mezarlik Tepe; about 250 m southeast of Çayüstü 1 findspot at the entrance of Çayüstü Village south of Batman Province. It is seperated from Çayüstü 1 by dried streambed. Palaeolithic chipped stone tools were found during the survey conducted by H. Taskiran in 2004. Total of 24 tools 12 of them are cores and 12 are flakes and blades. General characterictics of the finds showed that they were belonging to the end of Lower Palaeolithic; beginning of Middle Palaeolithic. Code T61/2 [Taskiran 2006:207]. |
