It is situated 5 km north of Adilcevaz, west of the Van Lake. Three walls were built one after another within a narrow and rocky channel to the south of the lake, which is average in size. This way a dam wall was built approximately 17 m in width. The reason for building such a wide dam wall is that the dam was situated on a seismic belt, therefore it had to be earthquake resistant. The Kircagöl Dam was built during the reign of Rusa II.
