The graves were uncovered by the waves of the lake in 1987. Same year; M. Darga who was excavating Semsiye Tepe; about 3.5 km away from the cemetery visited the site by boat before it was submerged. Based upon the information Darga provided; 60 cist graves were spread around and many sherds of the black burnished and unburnished wares and all types of handmade vessels were seen. The graves were built by vertical stones. The vessels were carinated. According to Darga; graves are comparable with the Lidar graves of EBA II-III.
