It is in the village of Ambar; district of Bismil; province of Diyarbakir. It is a high and round mound measuring 100 m in diameter and 11 m in height. It was discovered in 2002 during the survey conducted by B.L. Peasnal. due to the present usage of the mound as a cemetery area; Peasnal has suggested that the site served for the same purpose before as well. The collected material includes an Obeid type sherd; late 3rd millennium dark-rimmed orange ware; a seal impressed piece and green glazed material. |
