It lies 500 east of Igdir-Tuzluca motorway; northeast of Melekli Village and approximately 5 km northeast of Igdir Province. Kültepe is 2 km west of the site. The castle which is made of igneous rocks has a rectangular plan and a 3 m door. Lots o potsherds dated to EBA and Middle Age were found during the survey conducted by A. Ceylan in 2002. Castle was named after the horse shoe shaped perforated stone lying northwest. |
