It is located in the Hanusay-Bel Mevkii; 1 km south of Kayadüzü; 10 km east of the district of Merzifon in the province of Amasya. Samsun-Ankara motorway runs from the middle of the mound. It is 5 m high and measures 80x120 m. It was discovered in 2001; during the Survey of Samsun and Amasya Provinces conducted under the directorship of M. Özsait. Numerous EBA sherds; which mostly belong to middle-sized pots and bowls; were found. It is reported that this material has similarities with the contemporary EBA I ceramics of Onhoroz and Aliaga Pinari. Based on the pithos and bones observed on the section of the mound; it is suggested that the site includes an EBA cemetery. |
