This site is lies about 4 km northeast of Sungur Village; which is north of Yayladag and south of Antakya city center. It is a flat area above a hill on the Antakya-Yayladag highway. A large amount of good quality silexes formed in limestone were found on the surface around the habitation site. The site was discovered in 1998 by a survey team conducted by Isin Yalçinkaya. According to the researchers; the Levallois cores and the manuport tools indicate the existence of a temporary habitation or atelier complex. |
