| Düzyeri Mevkii lies on the northeast of Yurtbagi (Mercihamis) Village which is located 3 km north of Karkamis district center in Gaziantep province. On this area; which is located on the southwest side of the dam; there is an irrigation channel a bearing point on it. This site was discovered in 2000 by a team under H. Taskiran during the project of "The Palaeolithic Survey in the Carchemish Dam Reservoir Region" coordinated by METU TAÇDAM (Center for Research and Assessment of the Historic Environment). Despite the flint was plentiful; only two flakes and two cores were found [Taskiran 2002:415]. Code W48/51. |
