It is located about 2.5 km northeast of Sungur Village that lies north of Yayladag; south of Hatay city center. Sungur Village is founded on the foots of Ziyaret Mountain. The numerous Palaeolithic materials found in the village have indicated that the modern village was built on a Palaeolithic site. Deliktas Mevkii is named after two rock graves. Palaeolithic tools were also gathered 1.5 km south of Deliktas; the location called Harmanyeri. The site was discovered during a survey in 1998 by a team under Isin Yalçinkaya. The tools gathered appear to be Middle Palaeolithic. The area is believed to be used as an atelier. |
