Russell who has analyzed the sherds reports that Halaf; Halaf-Ubaid Transition; and Ubaid Period sherds are collected by Burney. Chaff-faced ware sherds constitute the other finds. The abundance in Halaf Painted Ware sherds is striking. It is dated to 7th; 8th; and 9th phases of ASPRO. The site is important in the course of understanding the Chalcolithic Age traditions of Adiyaman region. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The mound was visited during the survey conducted by S. Ezer and his team in 2013. On the surface, a great number of pot sherds dating to 4th millennium BC including 3rd millennium BC sherds. There are also a few pot sherds belonging to the later periods [Ezer et al. 2015:178].
