The mound lies 4.7 km west-southwest of Günlüce (Sadiye-Karamezar) Village; northeast of Ceyhan District; east of Adana Province. West of the mound passes the dirt road between Günlüce and Kösreli. An old stream bed lies beside the mound. Deposits of ash and burnt soil are observed in the section. It is surveyed in 1936 by Nielsen Expedition. The sherds collected from the surface are analyzed and the existence of Chalcolithic Age; MBA-LBA; Hellenistic and Roman Period settlements is observed as a result. The Chalcolithic Age sherds are in chaff-faced ware. It was researched within the scope of "Adana (Ceyhan) and Kayseri (Develi) Surveys" performed by S. Girginer et al. in 2005. The mound which is just on the eastern bank of the Ceyhan river; is at 30 m altitude; and 50x100 m in size. The researches revealed that approximately half of the mound at its western and northwestern parts were destructed through the wear by Ceyhan river; and by soil removal. Based on the ceramics gathered from the mound the settlements were from Chalcolithic in addition to 2nd millenium BC; and later periods [Girginer 2007:174-175]. It was mentioned in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
