It is located in the Akçay Plain; 2 km northwest of Toygar (Hamidiye) Village; south of Nazilli District; east of Aydin Province. The mound is locally known as Höyük Tepe. It was first investigated by J. Mellaart under the name of Hamidiye; followed by R.T. Marchese and E. Akdeniz and dated to EBA. A tumulus stands on the EBA settlement where eastern part has been completely damaged by the road passing by and the irrigation channel constructed. The illicit diggings augmented the degree of the destruction. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
