It is located 1.1 km south of the village of Yurtbasi; 14 km west of the district of Refahiye; northwest of the province of Erzincan. The village is not shown on the 1:200.000 scale map. It is a conical mound that lies on a natural hill measuring 200 m in diameter. A small number of material was collected from the surface by S. Güneri. The majority of them consist of hand made; chaff and grit tempered; dark colored cored; red and black surfaced; burnished sherds. It is assumed that these ceramics resemble the Erzurum and Kars originated Early Transcaucasian industries as well as Central Anatolia EBA ceramic industry. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
