| The mound lies approximately 8 km north of Diyarbakir; in Karaç.ali (Tilalo/Tilali) village. It is a huge mound. It measures 30 m in height and 275x250 m in dimensions. Low ridges on the south and west expose the presence of a lower city. The modern village of Karaçali obscures the eastern slope of the mound. The top hill and the lower northern slope are used as a cemetery. The inhabitants probably used the spring 50 m away. It was first introduced by K. Kökten. Recovery of the pottery belonging to the Copper Age was reported. It is coded under S 58 / 1. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
