The site lies south of Ankara; 22.5 km southeast of Haymana; 1.3 km west of Yenice Village. S. Omura and his team discovered the site during the Central Anatolia Survey in 1993. It has been stated that the sherds were collected from a 70x85 m area. According to Omura; the collected sherds date to the Chalcolithic Age and EBA. However; he does not give any detailed information about the finds. If the groove-decorated potsherds of Karakuyu II have resemblances with the Chalcolithic Age sherds of Büyük Güllücek; Alacahöyük; and Ikiztepe; it can be stated with prudence that such ware observed also in Ayvaz Höyük II is the typical ware of Chalcolithic Age in this region [Omura 1995:232].
Location: The site is 22.5 km southeast of the city of Ankara and the district of Haymana; 1 km west of the village of Yenice. It lies 300 m northwest of the site of Ayvaz Höyük I; which yielded Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Age finds [Omura 1995:229].
Geography and Environment: The site is an open air site which extends 70 m north-south and 85 m east-west [Omura 1995:229].
