The mound lies in the vicinity of Yenice Village; 1.7 km north of Beyköy junction on Adana-Karataş motorway; south of Adana Province. It is a small; flat mound. It measures 3 m in height and 100 m in diameter. In 1951; a surface collection was carried out during the Cilicia Survey under M.S. Seton-Williams. Although it should have been named after the village nearby as Tanriverdi Höyüğü; it was named as Tenevardi as a result of misunderstanding by Gjerstad. It is suggested that the site had been inhabited during the Chalcolithic Age [Harmankaya et al.1998:Tenevardi I]; the EBA; the second and first millennia BC Sherds of the straw-tempered ware were recovered. |
