| The mound lies 15 km northeast of Mus; 2 km southeast of Boyuncuk (Seyhyusuf) Village; east of the highway that leads to Mus. Sihpirim quarter of Alican Village and Kirkköy town are located northeast; Alican Village is west-northwest of the mound. It was discovered by C.A. Burney in 1957. Russel claims that there are potsherds in wheel-made chaff-faced ware and paint-decorated variants of the same ware among the collected finds. On the contrary; Burney does not mention any Chalcolithic Age settlements on the site. Russel was not able to find any other wares besides these two wares. Another surface collection was conducted by M.S. Rothman in 1991. Iron Age and Hellenistic Period potsherds were collected. |
