The mound lies in the Toygar (Silbistan) Village north of Malatya; 4-5 km north of Battalgazi district; close to Hasirci IV settlement; just north of Kayali; on the left bank of the stream. It is surveyed in 1956 by C.A. Burney. The surface finds interestingly seem very different from those collected from Hasirli IV. Besides the few sherds in light colored ware; handmade dark faced burnished ware is existent; and yet the relation of these two wares with each other could not be understood. The pottery finds date to the very end of Chalcolithic Age and to the beginning of Early Bronze Age; according to Burney. |
