| The mound lies northwest of Gaziantep and of Sakçagözü district; on the northeast extension of Islahiye plain. It is discovered in 1995; during the Sakçagözü Regional Survey conducted by A. Garrard. Late Chalcolithic Age (?); EBA; MBA-LBA; and Roman Period pottery finds are collected from the surface. The published bowl sherd in pale orange-buff; lightly burnished ware is dated to the 4th Millennium BC [Garrard 1997:fig.7/7]. The existence of a Chalcolithic Age settlement is dubious. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
