The caves labeled SAK 2 and SAK 3 are located northwest of Gaziantep; northeast of Islahiye and Sakçagözü. They are discovered during the 1995 Sakçagözü Regional Survey conducted by A. Garrard. Of the two caves SAK 3 has yielded Halaf Period (?) and Ubaid Period pottery sherds; SAK 2 has yielded Late Chalcolithic Age finds. No detailed information about the caves or the finds exists in the preliminary report; but it is declared that three more caves Ñwith later period findsÑ in the same region exist. |
