The mound is located northeast of Adana; approximately 10 km north of Ceyhan; right across Pekmezli village. The mound cut by the Ceyhan-Kozan highway is also known by the name of Üç Höyük. A broken column piece which belongs probably to a Roman Period settlement is found on the surface of the mound discovered during the 1951 survey by M.V. Seton-Williams. The pottery finds imply settlements in Chalcolithic Age; 2nd Millennium BC; Hellenistic; Roman; and Byzantine periods. |
