| The mound lies southeast of Çanakkale; 1 km northwest of Pazarköy; and 100 m west of Sameteli road. The mound with two cones has been object to severe destruction as a result of terracing. It is discovered during the 1989 survey; in the region; conducted by M. Özdogan. No detailed information exists on the surface finds that date to Late Chalcolithic Age and EBA. Code I 6/21. The mound was researched again during the survey performed by Yalçikli in 2010. The mound consists of two interconnected hills. The small sized one which is on the northeast side of the hill is connected to the big sized one via a large pass. It is about 250x170 m in dimensions, 170 m altitude above sea level and 1.5 m above from the valley base. Among the finds collected from the surface, there are potsherds and flint tools which are dated to Late Chalcolithic, EBA, Archaic period and Middle Age. 4 baked clay spindle whorls were delivered to Çanakkale Archaeological Museum as inventory [Yalçikli 2012:211-212]. |
