The two coned-mound lies south of Balikesir; approximately 1 km east of Pamukçu village. Ikizce stream flows on its eastern side and there is another stream called Ovaköy to the west. The cone on the north has a diameter of 100 m and a height of 7 m; the cone on the south has a diameter of 100 m and a height of 2 m. It is believed that the settlement known by the name Nargiz is the same site. It is surveyed in 1959 by D.H. French. Black burnished Late Chalcolithic Age sherds with Kumtepe I b characteristics; EBA; and LBA sherds are collected from the surface. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
