It lies on the southern part of Doganköy (Evsaniye) Village; northwest of Elbistan District; north of Kahramanmaras Province. It is a low mound. It measures 5 m in height and 60x80 m in dimensions. It was discovered by von der Osten in 1929. It was introduced as Asaniyeh/Anzah Höyük. During a surface collection carried out in 1962; the presence of an EBA settlement had been attested by the samples of eastern ware; coarse red ware and mottled washed ware. A specific type of ware uncovered here is cited as Ozan ware in the archaeological literature. It; probably; houses EBA I-II settlements. It was researched again by E. Konyar et al. in 2007. The presence of Karaz, Early Transcaucasian sherds in the mound suggests its connection with East Anatolia and Euphrates encatchment area[Konyar 2009:176]. |
