It lies approximately 3 km northeast of Saçakli Village; northeast of Hatay Province. This site; AS (Amuq Survey) 181; was discovered in 1995 during the survey of the Amuq Plain and the salvage excavation on Tell el Cüdeyde/Judaidah conducted by the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago. The site lies in the bed of Lake Antioch (Amik Lake); 1-1.5 km north-northwest of the village of Tell-ed-Diss. AS 181 is an open-air site which extends 200 m north-south and 100 m east-west. In addition to Amuq F; G and H ceramics; Amuq A and B Neolithic pottery was found. |
