The mound lies between Arak Village and Çalti Village; 6 km southeast of Sarkikaraagaç; northeast of Isparta Province. It was discovered during a survey conducted by M. Özsait in 1987. It stands on a natural hill. It has been bisected during the construction of the Isparta - Konya motorway. The survey point #356 is situated on the mound. Materials of the EBA I; II and III; the second millennium BC; the Iron Age and the late periods were recovered during the surface collection. Burnished; gray; red washed EBA pottery with a brown and small grit and plant tempered paste was recovered. Majority of the sherds belongs to the medium-sized bowls and jugs. |
