The mound lies in the fields of the village of Adagören (Kilisik) which is located northeast of the centrum of Malatya. The settlement was partially occupied by the modern village and its gardens; thus the surface could not be properly surveyed. As it was very close to the Euphrates; the settlement is now inundated by Karakaya Dam. It was spotted by a team from the Prehistory Section of the University of Istanbul in 1977. Chalcolithic Age sherds; few in number; were collected from the surface; but the majority of the material dates to the Post-Classical Periods. Even if there is a Chalcolithic Age settlement; as is supposed; it is locked by the Classical and the modern settlements. The location code is P 50 / 13.
