| The mound is located at the east-southeast of Elazig; 2 km northwest of Degirmenönü (Zerteriç) Village of Içme Sub-district. It was not inundated by the Keban Dam. The mound was discovered during the Keban Survey conducted by R. Whallon and S. Kantman. The very small; low; and round mound measures 2-2.5 m in height and 60x67 m in diameter. Potsherds of grafite-slipped ware and crème colored chaff-faced ware were collected from the surface. According to Whallon; these finds date back to the Early and Late Chalcolithic Age. In addition; EBA; MBA-LBA; and Iron Age potsherds were recovered. The location code is O 55 / 2. |
