The 20 m high mound; measuring 125 m in diameter; lies west of Karahöyük Village; 6 km northeast of Arguvan District; north of Malatya. Sherds of local painted and plain ware; dating to the Chalcolithic Age; were found during the surface collection of C.A. Burney in 1956. There is chevron motif on some painted vessels. There are probably painted Halaf vessels; as well. In addition; EBA material was recovered. Russell does not give any information about the Chalcolithic Age vessels which date to the 8th phase in ASPRO. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
