It lies about 1.5 km south-southwest of Sahinkaya (Hulvenk) Village; immediate north of the Elazig-Keban highway; west-northwest of Elazig Province. East of the mound Birlik Concrete Factory takes place and Bizmesen bus stop is opposite to the mound. It measures 8 m in height and ca. 50 m in diameter. During the surface collection carried out by C.A. Burney; samples of the black burnished Karaz ware with different colored exterior and interior surfaces as well as red-brown burnished ware and painting decorated ware were recovered. It is one of the major settlements of this region. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
