Güblüce Höyük is located at the Akpinar Quarter of Ekinözü district, Kahramanmaras Province. The mound is located at a 1450 m altitude and covers an area of approximately 6878 square meters. Güblüce Höyük is dated to the Late Chalcolithic Period and the Early Bronze Age. Among the wares documented in Güblüce Höyük, the first group is the reddish-brown coated pottery with exterior-thickened rims. They are considered to be in use from the Late Chalcolithic Period to the Early Bronze Age. Similar pottery had been found within the region at Akpinar, Bozhöyük, Kartalkaya-Körali, Karasüleymanli, Hozan, Karaelbistan and Ortaören Höyük. The second group is the so-called "Elazig-Malatya Painted Ware". They are painted with band motifs and have exterior-thickened rims. In terms of form, vertical oval deep double groove decorated rim sherds, exterior-thickened rim sherds and pedestal base sherds are significant [Dumankaya et. al. 2018: 553] |
