The mound is located at the 550 m altitude and covers an area of approximately 8213 square meters. Erkenez (Yilginli) Höyük is dated to the Early Bronze Age and the Middle Bronze Age. Pottery from Erkenez (Yilginli) Höyük is generally consists of flat-bases, thin flat-rims and has vertical handles; however these forms belong to two different periods.
