Dogan/ Evzaniye Höyük is located at Dogan Quarter of Elbistan district, Kahramanmaras province. The mound located at a 1150 m altitude covers an area of approximately 6306 square-meters. The mound dates to the Early-Middle-Late Bronze Age/ the Iron Age (?)[Dumankaya et. al. 2018: 119]. A variety of pottery has been identified during the surveys in Dogan/Evzaniye Höyük. The first group is the plain simple/metallic ware that dates to the Early-Middle Bronze Age. Similar pottery had been found at Boyali, Büyükyapalak Büyük, Büyükyapalak Küçük, Büyükyapalak Gök and Çinarli Höyük within the region. The second group of pottery is the drab ware dated to the Middle-Late Bronze Age. Its examples had been found at Elbistan-Karahöyük, Igde-Iskartun and Yassihöyük within the region. The third group is the cream-coated pottery impressed with black band patterns. Examples of its kind had been found at Yassihöyük, Elbistan-Karahöyük and Tudegin Höyük and dated to the Hittite Imperial Period [Dumankaya et. al. 2018: 118-119]. |
