There are many rock-cut burial chambers on the facade of the rock, by the wayside, in Bitez Town of Bodrum District, in Mugla Province. Only two of the chambers could be measured. The one in the east is 0.89 m high and 1 m wide. It is in a rectangular plan and faces the south. The chamber in the west measures 0.65 m high and 0.85 m wide. It is also in a rectangular plan and faces the east. The sections that were opened during the road construction yielded Roman roof tiles, potsherds and pithoi fragments. It is registered with the number of AS7 in the Cultural Inventory of Mugla Province [Mugla KE III.1 2013:183]. |
