The mound lies in the northwest of Çiçekyurdu Hamlet of Yokusbaglar Village in Merkez District, 27 km southwest of Siirt centrum. It is located at the bank of Botan Suyu Stream flowing from the south of Siirt. It measures about 100x40 m in dimensions [Saglamtimur 2004a:463; Saglamtimur 2004b:151]. It is believed that the cultural deposit of the settlement is about 3-4 m thick. The surface of the mound slopes from west to east; towards a shallow ditch. It was discovered during the studies carried out, under the direction of Algaze, in Botan Suyu Valley within the scope of Tigris-Euphrates Archaeological Reconnaissance Survey Project in 1998 [Algaze 1989: 253, 268, 279]. The site was reinvestigated by a team under the directorship of J. Velibeyoglu during their survey in Botan Valley and Çattepe (Tilli). The site was excavated in 2002 and in 2006, respectively by H. Saglamtimur and Mardin Museum. The Neolithic finds consist of the finds exposed in some graves. In the south section of the settlement, three cist graves (M1, M2, M3) including multiple skulls were revealed. 7 skulls, bones belonging to an individual, and a complete pot were exposed in Grave M1. Traces of red ochre were determined on the cheekbones of one of the skulls. In Grave M2, 8 skulls, bones belonging to two individuals, and two complete pots were found. Red ochre traces were determined on the superciliary arches of one of the skulls. Grave M3 yielded a few arm and leg bones. The ceramics found in the graves show the characteristics of Pre-Halaf pottery. The potsherds with bitumen decoration dated to the 6th millennium BC were also found in the settlement [Saglamtimur 2013:136].
Location: The mound lies southwest of Siirt; 1.5 km north-northeast of Yokusbaglari (Susik) Village; on the east bank of Botan Suyu stream. Nowadays, the name of the village is Cicekyurdu.
Geography and Environment: The mound measuring 100x40 m in dimensions locates 6 km north of the point where Botan Suyu Stream joins Tigris River. The mound locates on a hiil and its surface slopes from west to east; towards a shallow ditch. It is located is at a spot where two high mountain ranges get very close to each other near the end of the Botan Suyu Valley to the south of this deep valley. The mound is located on a natural valley consisting of cobblestone deposits conveyed by the tributaries of Botan Suyu through floodings into the valley. The mound slopes from west to east towards a shallow ditch. The north section of the mound is bordered with a seasonal creek. The alluvial deposit carried by the creek formed a graveled flat area in the northwest section of the mound [Saglamtimur 2004a:463].
