| It locates 130 m northwest of the mosque in Akhüyük Village, in Eregli District of Konya Province. It measures about 210x130 m and 15 m high. It situates on a natural stone plateau-hill. It was initially researched by S. Güneri during the survey conducted in the 1980s. It was visited during the survey conducted by Ç. Maner and her team in 2014. There is a thermal spring in the northeast of the mound. A large number of worked obsidian was found on the surface. This indicates that the mound might have been used as a workshop in Neolithic Period. On the other hand, the potsherds found on the mound date to Chalcolithic, EBA, LBA, IA, Roman and Byzantine periods [Maner 2017:6-7]. |
