During the survey carried out by Kadriye Özçelik and her team in Yagdiroglu Mevkii, opposite Aydinlar Dam in Aydinlar Quarter of Honaz District in Denizli Province in 2014, Palaeolithic finds in high density were discovered. One bifacial tool, chopper and chopping tools representing the Acheulean culture of Lower Palaeolithic, Lower / Middle Palaeolithic cores used for flake production, a Clactonian flake and an end scraper were found. Except from one chopper produced from sandstone, all of the finds were made out of local dark yellow flint with grey vein [Özçelik et al. 2016:381]. |
