During the survey carried out by B. Düring and his team within the scope of Cide Archaeological Project, potsherds belonging to Late Roman and Byzantine periods were recovered from Çamdibi Valley (locally known as Loç). Prehistoric finds are quite a few. The most striking find was found on the plain next to the village mosque. In this area, a polished chisel and an accompanying flint knife were found next to a large electricity pole. These artifacts were probably dug up from a subsurface level in the process of creating a pit for positioning the pole. This spot also contained many tile fragments, one Byzantine sherd, and a pivot stone [Düring-Klinkenberg 2015]. |
