It is located 600 m northeast of Çegilli Village in Merkez District of Ardahan Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by S. Pataci in 2013. Remains belonging to IA were found in the summit of the hill called Büyük Tepe. The hill is 1970 m above the sea level and it is named as Çegilli (Büyük Tepe) Höyügü. Piles of stones surrounding the terrace indicate the existence of a fortress. Local people reported that the wall remains of the fortress have been completely damaged a long time ago and the stones taken from the fortress were used in modern structures. The remains scattered in an area of 16 m in diameter. IA and Middle Age sherds were found on the northwest and south slopes and the summit of the mound. The relationship between these remains and Tower III (and rest of the towers, see Cegilli Kuleleri) located at a distance of 500 m is not yet clarified [Pataci 2015:103].
