It is located in Saribeyli Village in the southeast of Kaynarca District of Sakarya Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by M. Kartal and his team in 2013. It is also named as Area no.12. A great number of chipped stone materials belonging to Middle Palaeolithic, Upper Palaeolithic, Epipalaeolithic and possibly Pre-Pottery Neolithic were found in the hazel gardens in the woodlands on the left side of Saribeyli-Kömürlük Tepe road. These finds consist of two raw materials: flint and obsidian. The obsidian is high in number. Quite small sized obsidian fragments were found in the area. The high density of these finds indicates the existence of an occupation. Among the finds, there are Levallois and disk-shaped cores, side scraper with alternate retouch and side scrapers in various types, retouched and non-retouched flakes belonging to Middle Palaeolithic. Upper Palaeolithic and Neolithic finds consist of single, two-sided and transverse sided microblade cores, retouched blades, retouched and non-retouched flint blades and bladelets, obsidian flake-blade-bladelets, end scrapers, notched and denticulated tools, stone borers, hammers and ground stone fragments. The area yielded data indicating the existence of Post Epipalaeolithic, Neolithic Age as well. Obsidian and flint short sickle blades with silica and parallel-sided blades with trapeze and triangle section in pressure technique indicate the existence of a Pre-Pottery Neolithic community. No potsherds were found in the area [Kartal et al. 2015:16-17].
