It is located 2 km west of Çaliyazi Village, 17 km north of Pasinler District of Erzurum Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by Üngör and his team in 2012. The majority of the city walls belonging to the fortress have been damaged. Only the beds of city wall that were carved into the bedrock were preserved. Wall remains were encountered in some parts of the fortress. It was observed that mortar was not used in the wall located to the east of the fortress. There is a corridor that was formed with cut stones in the interior section of the fortress. To the west of this, there is a remnant that is believed to be an entrance. Three graves that could belong to the earlier period were discovered. There are traces of illicit diggings. It is believed that a settlement existed in the west of the fortress. During the survey, worked obsidian pieces and a small bone fragment were found [Üngör et al. 2014:66]. |
