Hasanbey Fortress dated to IA is located 3 km southeast of Hasanbey Village, 39 km southeast of Horasan District of Erzurum Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by Üngör and his team in 2012. The fortress overlooks the ancient roads and water sources. It was built in accordance with the natural form of the hill and is situated on a quite steep hill. It is about 450 m high from the ground. To access the fortress is very hard. The city walls of the fortress, which have been severely damaged, could be traced only in a limited area. Square planned architectural remains were found in the northwest of the fortress. In the same area, a structure that was built by trimming the bedrock was encountered. It is believed that this area was used as a sacred area. To the southwest of the fortress, there is a water tunnel with rock steps located at the altitude of 2419 m. The inner height of the water tunnel is 2 m and its width is about 2.5 m. 65 steps in total were determined. 11 m of the water tunnel was exposed due to illicit diggings. The potsherds found in the fortress bear characteristics of EBA, IA and Middle Age [Üngör et al. 2014:62].
