It was discovered during the survey carried out by E. Güleç and her team in 2011. Kaleiçi Magarasi is situated on the slope on the left of the valley, opposite the caves named Göksüncük 1 and Uzay. The caves (Uzay, Kaleiçi and Yanalak), located in the valley in the north of Göksüncük Village in Sehitkamil District of Gaziantep Province, were formed inside the limestone rocks. The mouth of the caves are wide. However, they are not quite deep. Therefore, they look alike rather rock shelters. The front section of these caves yielded 31 stone tools, 3 cores and 1 handaxe. Among the tools, 13 flakes, 7 blades, 2 Levallois flakes and 1 Levallois blade were identified. The majority of the tools are non-retouched. The Levallois material and the handaxe indicate the existence of the Lower and Middle Palaeolithic cultures in the area [Güleç et al. 2013:259].
