It is a large cave with an entrance located on the steep slope behind Derebag Village in Cide District of Kastamonu Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by Serifoglu and his team in 2011. Stones collapsed from the ceiling were found along the cave. There is a deposit that yielded potsherds belonging to Chalcolithic, EBA, Early 2nd millennium BC., IA (?) and Byzantine periods under the rocks. The cave yielded potsherds that could be compared with the ones found in Okçular Ini and Kiliçli Cave in terms of forms. These potsherds could be dated to Late Chalcolithic / EBA I. On the contrary of the potsherds recovered from other caves, potsherds found in Derebag Village Cave are plant tempered. Some material might belong to Middle Chalcolithic. Although some handmade sherds seem to belong to Chalcolithic at first glance, it would be more feasible to date these sherds to Early IA based on the ware group and surface treatment. Among the findings dated to EBA and 2nd millennium BC transition period, there is a large, S-profiled, slipped bowl with vertical lug and everted rim that could be originated from Sinop region due to its distinct black colored inclusion [Serifoglu et al. 2013:162-163].
