It is located on the east of Murat River, about 1 km west of Dumlusu Village, 35 km north of the city center of Mus Province. It was discovered during the survey conducted by Biber-Çavusoglu in 2011. The west section in which Murat River is located is 17 m high. It is an oval shaped mound with a dimension of 50x90 m. High density of small sized, semi-worked and unworked stone material were observed in the illicit digging pits. Although the vast majority of potsherds collected from the surface are dated to Middle Age, there are also sherds which could be dated to IA [Biber-Çavusoglu 2013:307]. |
