It is located in Firuzköy Mevkii on the west of Küçükçekmece Lake within the borders of Avcilar District of Istanbul Province. It was discovered during the survey which was conducted within the scope of Istanbul Prehistoric Research by S. Aydingün and her team between 2007 and 2008. In 2009, the excavations were started in Küçükçekmece Lake Basin (Bathoneai). Handmade, mineral tempered and low-fired potsherds with black backswamp paste have been found around the soil which were carried by two water canals opened by the owners of the fields for irrigating the truck garden located 100 m above the area where Eskinoz Creek meets the lake. Some potsherds are in beige color and they belong to the cultural layer which is located between 4-3.50 m below the sea level. Some of the potsherds belong to IA and some of them show similarities with the Neolithic ones found in Marmaray-Yenikapi excavations. The results of the archaeogeophysical GPR surveys show the existence of a prehistoric village settlement in this area. The opposite slope of Eskinoz Creek on the east is in the form of peninsula which was formed afterwards. Large amount of choppers, weights and ground stone tools which bear similar characteristics with the chipped stone industry of Plaeolithic Yarimburgaz have been recovered from the west of this peninsula. Naviform cores which were dated to PPNB (about 9600-6000 BC) by Mehmet Özdogan were found on the peninsula as well [Aydingün 2010:289-290].
