It is located on a natural elevation on the ridge that overlooks the Tohma Brook to the north of the road to Imamoglu in Malatya. It lies on a 20 m high conic-shaped hill with a diameter of ca. 100 m consisting of river pebbles. It was discovered and surveyed by the Faculty of Language History and Geography of the Ankara University in August 1975, which was followed by a layout plan study and another survey by the Department of History of Istanbul University in May 1977. Sherds were found on the small plain ground at the hilltop, and abundant number of sherds, apparently slid from hilltop, were found on the lower sections of the skirt. The thickness and content of the archaeological deposit was unidentifiable during the survey. Small pits of illicit diggings are observed. Presence of sherds with a wide span of periods indicate a very thick deposit. The deposit on the hill containing gravels suggests that a large portion of the hill is natural or the settlement was only founded on one slope.
