The site, located southwest of Silopi east of Dicle; was discovered during the Surveys of Cizre-Silopi conducted by G. Algaze as a part of Southeastern Anatolia Project. It is located under Aktepe Karakolu in Aktepe Village in Silopi District. It lies on the natural hill overlooking Habur Creek. It measures 130 m in E-W and 120 m in N-S. Potsherds belonging to Late Chalcolithic, MBA and IA were seen on the surface [Algaze et al. 2012:64]. |
