It is located on the eastern section of the asphalt road of Batman-Diyarbakir, 1 km northeast of Sinan Village in Bismil District of Diyarbakir Province. It appears in the Diyarbakir Culture Inventory which was achieved after the surveys organized by the Diyarbakir Province Culture and Tourism Directorship between 2009 and 2011. It is 1.5 hectares in length and 1 m in height. It consists of two settlements which are 200 m away from each other. On the surface, Middle Assyrian sherds and sherds belonging to Nuzi Painted wares were found. Characteristics sherds of Neo-Assyrian were collected as well. Also, high density of metal and slag remains and tile fragments belonging to Assyrian Period were seen. |
