It lies on one of the hills which descends towards Gülecik Creek; in Horozun Tepe Mevkii in Emirmusa Village in Asarcik District of Samsun Province. The tumulus appears in the Samsun Culture Inventory which was achieved after the surveys organized by the Samsun Special Provincial Administration Directorship of Development and Construction in 2009.The burial chamber was unearthed due to illicit diggings. The capstone of the grave which was carved into rock was broken by the illicit diggers. The entrance is squarish and a second opening follows it. The façade of the grave ends with a rounded arch. The single chambered grave is filled with soil. Except some fragments of bone, no other finds were found. |
